In the opinion of the senior official, the fall of this settlement will make it difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maintain the supply line to the city of Chasov Yar, the other major bastion of Kyiv in that part of Donetsk.
Kimakovsky noted that Krasnoye is important because the main transport arteries to Chasovoy Yar are well covered by artillery and aviation fire from the Russian Federation, making their use difficult.
According to him, controlling the fire over Krasnoye will allow Russian troops to significantly reduce the maneuverability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
