Venezuela considered CIA director’s visit to Guyana an escalation

Caracas, Mar 22 (Prensa Latina) Foreign Minister Yván Gil, considered the visit to Guyana of the director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Williams J. Burns, as an intensification of provocations against Venezuela.

In the social network X, the top diplomat wrote last night that the head of that U.S. intelligence agency, which declares itself specialized in “lying, cheating and stealing”, and which has a record of death and destruction in the entire world, visits Guyana.

“This is nothing more than an intensification of provocations against our country, interfering, together with the U.S. Southern Command, in the territorial controversy over the Essequibo Guayana”, the Foreign Minister expressed.

Gil considered the deployment of the U.S. intelligence “a real threat, contrary to the spirit of the Argyle Declaration”, and a sample of the perverse tentacles of Exxon Mobil that dangerously insists on creating a dangerous situation in our Peace Zone.

Last December 14, Presidents Nicolás Maduro and Irfaan Alí, of Guyana, signed a document in Argyle, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in which both expressed their contribution to settle the dispute over the Essequibo peacefully and with respect for international law.

The Presidents bet on finding solutions without interference that would contribute to sustaining the proclamation signed in Havana of America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
