Cuban Embassy in Haiti responds to concerns of compatriots

Port-au-Prince, Mar 22 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Embassy in Haiti informed on Friday its compatriots stranded in this country about the steps being taken for their safe and orderly return home.

A representation of the diplomatic mission, made up of Counselor Agustín Serrano, First Secretary Joel Concepción, and Cubana de Aviación, informed and answered questions made by travelers, who were urged to remain safe in the rented houses where they are located in Port-au-Prince.

The evacuation will be conducted with one of the airline’s 50-seater planes, with two daily flights to Santiago de Cuba and Holguín. The passengers would then be transported by bus to their provinces of origin.

The plan for the safe return home of all Cubans stranded in Haiti is ready once flight operations are resumed at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport.

The diplomatic mission stressed that it would keep the Association of Cuban Residents in Haiti, the Cuban nationals stranded here, and Cuba’s public opinion informed.
