Venezuelan Vice President responds to Guterres’ statements

Caracas, Mar 21 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela's Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez on Thursday responded to statements made by UN Secretary-General (UNSG) António Guterres and regretted he disdains internal and external threats against Venezuelan people.

Venezuela regrets that Guterres “has never spoken out on the well-founded threats of assassination against President Nicolás Maduro or against destabilizing and violent plans”, which include attacks on military centers, she posted on X.

Rodríguez expressed that venezuelan keeps permanent communication with Guterres and “we will continue doing so”, in order to inform him not only about plans hatched abroad supported by Venezuelan extremism against the country´s peace, but also about the serious threat to peace in the region on the part of the United States.

Rodriguez denounced that Washington, in league with the government of Guyana, intends “to impose the territorial dispossession of the Essequibo.

We regret that Guterres “disregards both internal and external threats against the Venezuelan people”, and positions his opinions behind the back of the country, she stated.

Venezuela “will continue on its path in defense of democracy, peace and the happiness of the people”.
