Sri Lanka promotes investment opportunities in Cuba

Colombo, Mar 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés González, met with executives of the Lankem Ceylon PLC company on Thursday to discuss the possibilities of investments and business in his country.

During a meeting with Vice President Ananda Hettiarachchy and General Director Nadeeshan Jayakody, an engineer who graduated from Cuba, González explained the characteristics of the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM), located west of Havana.

The diplomat also addressed the benefits this leading Cuban enclave offers for foreign investors for setting up companies.

The ambassador also referred to the holding of the Havana International Fair in November this year and took the opportunity to motivate the company’s participation in this leading trade fair.

Lankem Ceylon PLC is a chemicals, paints, and consumer goods manufacturing company in Sri Lanka.

Founded in 1964, the company also engaged in the hospitality industry by owning and operating tourist resorts in Sri Lanka.
