The sending of the letter to the Russian leader was confirmed to the Metropoles website by former Foreign Minister Celso Amorim, head of the special advisor to the Presidency.
With the greeting, Lula returns the gesture made by Putin in 2022, when he congratulated him on his election in Brazil, in a note published by the Kremlin.
Putin was elected on March 17, with 87 percent of the vote, 10 percentage points more than in 2018.
According to Russia’s Central Election Commission, 74.22 percent of the population attended the polls.
