ARCPB in Bolivia condemn U.S. destabilization plans against Cuba

La Paz, Mar 20 (Prensa Latina) The Association of Cuban Residents of La Paz in Bolivia (ARCPB) on Wednesday condemned the US attempts to take advantage of Cuba´s present situation to destabilize its Revolution.

“There is nothing more reprehensible when they try to use illegitimate concerns to produce political events that are not even thought of by their actors”, according to a statement handed over to Prensa Latina.

The document adds that Cubans living abroad are aware “that the great difficulties suffered by the Cuban people in our homeland are given causes that cannot be ignored”.

It mentions the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States for over 60 years as major cause due to the mere fact that Cuba preferred to follow its own path.

The document describes that the effects of such a criminal policy got worse by the entry into force of over 200 additional reprisals adopted by the Donald Trump Administration and kept unchanged till today by Joe Biden´s.

This inhumane punishment against an entire people directly impacts the economy, that´s why the unjust and genocide US blockade is the main obstacle against Cuba´s socio-economic development.

“If the United States and other countries are truly interested in the Cuban people, they should unite and enforce the resolution approved by the absolute majority of the UN member countries, which for more than two decades have been calling for the lifting of the blockade”, the statement read.

The Bolivian residents also urge Washington to remove Cuba from its unilateral States Sponsoring of Terrorism (SST) list. “The ARCPB calls on our relatives and friends living in Cuba to adequately channel their dissatisfaction, as guaranteed by the Constitution,” the statement says.

It concludes with a call “not to be surprised by actions directed from outside our borders with the purpose (…) of destabilizing our country”.
