The senior Chinese Communist Party official arrived in Zimbabwe on Monday on an official visit and is expected to meet with President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday.
The delegation is in Harare to follow up on the leading consensus between the two leaders to further advance in the China-Zimbabwe comprehensive strategic cooperation, Jiang said upon arriving here.
During the visit, we will work to deepen our exchanges between parties and compare our practices and experiences in construction and governance, he noted.
In his remarks, Jiang recalled that China and Zimbabwe have long enjoyed friendly exchanges that date back to the national liberation struggle, when the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people strongly supported the liberation struggle in Zimbabwe.
Zanu PF (Zimbabwe’s ruling party) National Chairman and Defense Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, who stressed the importance of ongoing high-level exchanges between the two countries, welcomed Jiang at Harare airport.
