A statement issued by the organization confirms its support for Cuba in response to the “pressing situations caused by the economic crisis and the cruel blockade that imperialism has been exerting on the Cuban people for more than 60 years.”
It refers that the blockade against Cubans has been intensified in recent years with more than 243 coercive measures imposed by Washington, which also included Cuba in its unilateral list of states sponsors of terrorism, an additional reason to punish the Cuban people.
The statement remarks that the government of President Joe Biden has maintained until today those policies and actions to tighten the blockade.
We also categorically reject the interventionist statements by the Government of the United States through its diplomatic representation in Cuba, and express our solidarity with the members of the Cuban Embassy here, especially with Ambassador Zulan Popa.
