The official detailed aspects of the aggression against Gaza, especially the humanitarian crisis that the population is experiencing: “Israel is waging several wars against us: a war against the land to seize it for the benefit of the colonies, a war against the people through assassinations, arrests and displacement, a war against money through illegal deductions from our funds, and a war against the Palestinian narrative,” he stated. “Our priority at this moment is to stop the war against Gaza and achieve the opening of all border crossings with Israel to increase the volume of aid,” he stressed.

However, Benjamin Netanyahu’s government rejects the possibility and on the contrary threatens to expand military operations there, specifically with an attack on the city of Rafah, crowded with refugees.

Shtayyeh warned of the danger of the invasion of Rafah and the need for an international effort to stop Israel’s armed forces.

Hours earlier, at the beginning of a meeting of the acting Cabinet, the politician rejected any foreign presence in the Gaza Strip: “There are those who want the self-administration of Gaza, and there are those who are working to bring private security companies to work in Gaza, we reject those plans,” he said.

He also called for the creation of an international force under the UN umbrella to protect the Palestinian people.
