In this regard, the Addis Ababa government attaches great importance to bilateral ties with Bern, Selassie said during the groundbreaking ceremony of the future diplomatic headquarters alongside his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis.
“I was surprised to realize that the new building has a combination of architectural concepts and I am happy to know that it will have a footprint of one of the most prominent historical houses that is somewhere in the palace in the north of Addis Ababa, called Sheik Ojele Palace,” he stressed.
He considered the construction of the new structure as a practical demonstration of Ethiopia as a diplomatic center.
Cassis, for his part, assured that the building of a new embassy is a manifestation of the importance Switzerland attaches to the African nation.
