The Fair, which is part of the 19th International Convention, Informática 2024, is also held virtually until March 22 and includes 49 stands for exhibitors from a dozen countries.
Ariadne Plascencia, executive secretary of the Fair, said recently that some 67 companies dedicated to computer technologies, digitalization, and artificial intelligence are participating.
Plascencia also pointed out that one of the peculiarities of this edition is the representation of all Cuban economic stockholders.
“There was no history of the participation of private companies in previous fairs, although the results of self-employed workers had been shown. They will also be in universities; science, technology, and innovation units; the state business system; and private management forms,” she said on a national television program.
She explained that the eminent space of the Fair is the exhibition area. The Business Forum, to which 38 works from 24 entities are registered, takes place at the same time.
An online programming challenge in the style of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), an annual competition among the universities of the world, is also added to those activities.
On Friday, the final day of the Fair, representatives of the Scientific and Technological Parks of Havana and Matanzas will present the business opportunities developed by technology-based companies in those provinces.
