In that sense, the MCSC backed the Cuban Government in its claim to the United States for the interference of its Chargé d’Affaires in Havana, Benjamin Ziff.
On Monday, the US diplomat was summoned to the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Deputy Minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, who formally conveyed to him the steadfast rejection of the interference behavior and the slanderous messages of the US Government and its Embassy in Havana regarding the internal affairs of Cuba’s reality.
The MCSC objected to “the arrogant attitude of US officials who pretend to dictate moral lessons when they are the ones who criminally exercise a permanent attack on the Cuban people.”
In a communiqué, the Colombian group further denounced the messages posted on social media by the US Embassy in Cuba, considering them “publications full of lies, with which they cynically try to manipulate public opinion.”
The MCSC stressed that the US Government is responsible for the difficult economic situation in which the Cuban people find themselves.
