By having launched the attack, they intend to exclude many people from the truth, depriving them of data, information and cultural manifestations, Masetti’s grandson assured.

From the power plants and computer laboratories of the global right, they always seek to break, attack, misinform, and manipulate the voice of those determined to build journalistic agendas at the service of a political and social alternative in favor of the peoples, he added.

He affirmed that the fact “seeks to break the identity of the agency founded by Jorge Ricardo Masetti, Ernesto Guevara (1928-1967), Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and the heroic people of Cuba to subdue them, break their self-esteem, silence and manipulate them.”

That aggression, which is being launched just months earlier the 65th anniversary of Prensa Latina, is not new, since throughout its history the agency has gone through the closure of correspondents, persecutions and attacks by governments and groups of people from the United States, actions that did not succeed in silencing its successful journalistic work, he concluded.

After the cyber-attack, Prensa Latina’s President Luis Enrique Gonzalez stated that no one will silence the voice of the Global South pointing out that the strength of this entity in the international media scenario makes it a target for attacks from planetary hegemonic groups.

Media outlets, such as Xinhua, Sputnik, Azertac, TV BRICS, Caras y Caretas and Vea, among others, denounced the cyber-attack and expressed their support.

Expresan en Argentina solidaridad con Prensa Latina tras ciberataque

Buenos Aires, 19 mar (Prensa Latina) El periodista argentino Santiago Masetti expresó hoy su solidaridad y compromiso con la Agencia Informativa Latinoamericana Prensa Latina, que sufrió el pasado domingo un ciberataque a su canal en la plataforma Youtube. En un mensaje, el nieto de uno de los fundadores de ese medio de prensa (Jorge Ricardo Masetti, 1929-1964) lamentó que la agencia fuera víctima de una agresión de ese tipo, que implicó la pérdida de su perfil y la modificación de las credenciales de acceso y recuperación de sus administradores en esa red social, vital en estos tiempos para el trabajo periodístico.

Con ese ataque pretenden excluir de la verdad a mucha gente, privándola de datos, informaciones y manifestaciones culturales, afirmó.

Desde las usinas y laboratorios informáticos de la derecha global siempre se busca romper, atacar, desinformar y manipular la voz de aquellos que deciden construir agendas periodísticas al servicio de una alternativa política y social en favor de los pueblos, añadió.

Aseveró que el hecho “busca romper la identidad de la agencia fundada por Jorge Ricardo Masetti, Ernesto Guevara (1928-1967), Fidel Castro (1926-2016) y el heroico pueblo de Cuba para someterlo, quebrar la autoestima, silenciar y manipular”.

Está agresión, que se realiza a meses de conmemorarse el aniversario 65 de Prensa Latina, no es novedosa, pues a lo largo de su historia la agencia sufrió cierre de corresponsalías, persecuciones y atentados por gobiernos y grupúsculos digitados desde Estados Unidos, acciones que no lograron acallar su exitoso trabajo periodístico, concluyó.

Tras lo sucedido, el presidente de Prensa Latina, Luis Enrique González, declaró que nadie acallará la voz del Sur Global y resaltó que la solidez de esta entidad en el escenario mediático internacional la convierte en blanco de ataques de grupos hegemónicos planetarios.

Medios como Xinhua, Sputnik, Azertac, Tv Brics, Caras y Caretas y Vea, entre otros, denunciaron el ciberataque y expresaron su apoyo.
