First substitute of Belarusian Minister of Defense visits Cuba

Havana, Mar 18 (Prensa Latina) The deputy minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) of Cuba and chief of the General Staff, Army Corps General Roberto Legrá, on Monday welcomed the first substitute of the Minister of Defense of Belarus, Victor Vladimirovich Gulevich.

In an official ceremony at the El Cacahual mausoleum, in the Havana municipality of Boyeros, Legrá welcomed the visitor, who is also chief of the General Staff.

Legrá explained to Gulevich some details about the historic significance of El Cacahual: a national monument that keeps the remains of Liberation Army Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo, his assistant, Francisco Gómez Toro (Panchito), and other Cuban patriots. Accompanying the first substitute of the Belarusian Minister of Defense was the ambassador in Havana, Valery Baranovsky, and diplomatic personnel, while top FAR officers were present on Cuba’s behalf.
