The congratulatory letter from the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea will be delivered to the Russian Foreign Ministry by Ambassador in Moscow Sin Hong Chol, the state agency KCNA reported.
Putin won Sunday’s elections and will lead Russia for another six years.
Kim visited the Russian Federation in September 2023 and held official and private talks with Putin in an atmosphere that, according to political circles and media outlets from the two nations, showed the good chemistry between them.
During a recent visit to Russia, DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui conveyed to Putin an invitation from Kim to visit the DPRK.
According to KCNA at the time, the Russian president expressed his “deep appreciation” for the invitation and assured that he would honor it “at an auspicious time” in the near future.
