In an interview with the European publication Travel Trade Caribbean (TTC), the official noted that the 69th Meeting of the Regional Commission for the Americas (CAM) and the Seminar: Promoting tourism development through innovation in tourism will take place on that coastal resort from April 29 to 30.
He pointed out that it will be a meeting of the Regional Commission for the Americas of UN Tourism, and representatives of all 26 countries that make up the region and the two Associate Members, as well as representatives of the private sector, are expected to meet.
Santos added that although this is a statutory meeting, it is time to work on the identified priorities that are related to connectivity, sustainability, the empowerment of women and youths, and development of products such as gastronomy or rural tourism.
During the meeting, the 2nd Amadeus report on Travel Trends in 2024 in the Americas will be presented.
Within the framework of the event, the Seminar: Promoting tourism development through innovation in community tourism, which – together with the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba (Mintur) – will be an opportunity to learn about good practices in innovation and investments in local communities, human capital, biodiversity and infrastructure, will be held.
The event will also allow us to search for sustainable alternatives to strengthen community tourism and entrepreneurship for the development of tourist experiences.
