“Royal Caribbean International has cancelled all cruises to Labadee, a private beach in northern Haiti, until further notice,” a statement from the shipping company said.
Customers who had booked cruises with scheduled calls in Labadee next week will now be able to switch to the option of getting off at another port or spending more days at sea.
Earlier this week, Royal Caribbean International canceled shore excursions, but it had maintained visits to Labadee, including jet skiing, kayaking and fishing excursions, Le Nouvelliste newspaper recalled.
The cruise ship Symphony of the Seas replaced the March 17 Labadee recreation with a day at sea, and Adventure of the Seas swapped the trip to the aforementioned private beach for a visit to Turks and Caicos.
