The signing of the agreements took place during the Sixth Ministerial Meeting of the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA), held in the Dominican city of Punta Cana.
Both agreements, which will be in force for two years, seek the comprehensive use of energy resources for present and future generations, under the criteria of transparency and environmental, economic and social sustainability.
They also seek to promote actions that will help these countries to foster the implementation of public policies in their respective sectors, based on their possibilities and needs.
It was reported that with the signing of these pacts, the three countries are committed to sharing experiences and best practices in key areas, such as planning, policies and energy transition, strengthening the legal, regulatory and institutional framework, and decarbonization of the generation matrix.
In addition, the production of electricity from non-conventional renewable sources, energy efficiency and the rational use of energy, storage and digitalization of energy systems and smart grids will be promoted.
The Dominican Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, represented the country in these signatures.
The Chilean government was represented by the undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, Luis Felipe Andrés Ramos, while Rosilena Lindo, from the National Energy Secretariat, signed for Panama.
