“Our revolutionary diplomacy will defend the legacy of its martyrs ahead of those who encourage violence and hatred against Cuba,” the FM posted on his X account.
On March 15, 1963, both diplomats departed in a plane from the Chacalluta airport in Chile, bound for La Paz, Bolivia. Notwithstanding, 28 minutes into the flight, the plane crashed on the northern slope of Mount Chechecomati, near the border between Peru and Chile.
There were no survivors of the accident, in which the three crew members and 36 passengers died.
The evidence supports the Cuban Government’s claim of an explosive attack by terrorists at the service of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
