Countries cannot hide behind airdrops of food and medicine and their efforts to open a maritime corridor to create the illusion that they are doing enough to respond to Gaza’s needs, they stressed.

The text recalled that the world’s primary responsibility “is to prevent atrocious crimes from occurring and to apply effective political pressure to put an end to the continued bombardment and restrictions”.

For months, the Gazan people have been starving and drinking contaminated water.

ActionAid International, Oxfam, War Child Alliance, HelpAge International, and the Welfare Association, among other NGOs, signed the message.
