The Cuban delegation that will participate in this new day of friendship and support from Mexicans to the people of José Martí and Fidel Castro already arrived in Mexico despite the complex situation for Cuba, due to the tightening of the economic war by the Government of the United States, leaders of the Movement said.
The March 16-17 meeting will be held in Acapulco, which is still recovering from devastating Hurricane Otis that destroyed a large part of Mexico’s most famous beach resort and will receive delegates from all 31 federal states and Mexico City.
Participants said that the event is a new demonstration and strengthens the bonds that unite the two peoples so closely identified culturally and historically.
The Cuban delegation consists of Noemí Rabaza Fernández, first vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP); Aleida Guevara March, Ernesto Che Guevara’s daughter; Colonel Orlando Cardoso Villavicencio, Hero of the Republic of Cuba; and Hassan Pérez Casabona, a researcher at the Center for Hemispheric and US Studies at the University of Havana.
