The Departmental Anti-Drug Brigade of Montevideo seized 54 kilograms of drugs last night in a warehouse in the Jardines del Hipódromo neighborhood.
The drugs were 43 kilograms of cocaine base paste and 11 kilograms of cocaine distributed in 41 bricks.
The police seized drug crystals, an M4 submachine gun, a 9 mm pistol, ammunition and magazines.
Two people, a mother and son, were placed at the disposal of the Narcotics Prosecutor’s Office.
In other operations disclosed today, four Paraguayans and two Uruguayans were arrested for drug trafficking actions. Police officers seized 30 kilograms of illicit substances and two vehicles.
The investigation suggests that the Paraguayans brought the drugs in and handed them over to the Uruguayans for distribution here.
