The Cuban Foreign Ministry made that remark on its X profile to celebrate the 18th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries on Wednesday.

Cuba and Uzbekistan maintain bilateral relations based on historic, friendly, and mutually respectful ties.

According to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, there is ample potential for expanding bilateral relations in the economic, agricultural, health, and cultural fields. In a congratulatory message to President Miguel Díaz-Canel on the 65th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, Mirziyoyev stressed that cooperation relations between the two nations will continue to develop in the future “also in our peoples’ interests.”
