According to the military institution, China held meetings with the defense ministries of all three countries and exchanged views on relations between the respective armies and on regional security issues of common interest.
The visit lasted from March 4 to 13, during which the parties held “in-depth consultations on promoting bilateral cooperation and reached consensus on a series of issues,” the statement noted.
Nepali media informed on the arrival of the Chinese delegation to that nation on March 9.
The Kathmandu Post mentioned a meeting between Major General Zhang Baoqun, Deputy Director of the International Military Cooperation Office of China’s Central Military Commission, and Nepal’s Chief of Army Staff, General Prabhu Ram Sharma.
According to the source, the two military officers assessed the acquisition of armored personnel carriers, the possibility of building ammunition production facilities, the resumption of joint exercises, the implementation of the Nepal Army’s training program, and the expansion of cooperation between the two armies.
Cooperation between these nations goes beyond politics and economy to reach the military aspect when China strengthens its ties with its South Asian neighbors.
