Houthi rebels attack another ship in Red Sea

Aden, Yemen, Mar 12 (Prensa Latina) Yemen's Houthi rebels, grouped in the Ansar Allah movement, launched a new attack against a container ship in the Red Sea, sources of this armed group reported on Tuesday. Houthis military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a press release broadcast on Al-Masirah TV that several naval missiles were launched against a ship named "Pinocchio" and it was hit.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) denied that the Pinocchio reported damage and was described as a Singaporean-owned, Liberian-flagged container ship.

According to the British military’s Maritime Trade Operations agency, the ship’s captain reported the incident and said no injuries were reported.

CENTCOM also informed about six US strikes on rebel-held areas.

On November 19, 2023, the Houthi rebels announced the decision to attack Israeli ships in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea in response to Tel Aviv’s attacks on Gaza.
