The FA responded to public accusations by National Party member Romina Celeste Papasso about an alleged aggression by Orsi on a trans woman. Papasso gained notoriety here when she accused Gustavo Penadés, a senator from her party at the time, who is now in prison on charges of sexual exploitation of minors.

The Political Bureau of Frente Amplio expressed “its deepest concern about the deterioration of the political campaign, which seeks to offend one of our pre-candidates for the Presidency of the Republic, comrade Yamandú Orsi, with unfounded accusations spread through social networks”.

At the same time, it considered it “fundamental for all political parties to make a statement advocating the development of clean campaigns”.
