The document underscored the efforts of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea to boost economic and social development under the banners of socialism and the leadership of the Workers’ Party and its general secretary, Kim Jong Un.
Held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the WFTU meeting also condemned the policy of provocations and threats against the DPRK by the United States and its allies in South Korea and Japan, which puts the Korean Peninsula at risk of nuclear war.
It also called on the international community to oppose the imperialist designs and express solidarity with the just struggle of the working class in the DPRK for the welfare of the people and the defense of national sovereignty.
Founded in 1945 in Paris, the WFTU is one of the oldest international trade union organizations in the world and represents some 105 million working men and women in 133 countries.
