The forecast indicates that in San Miguel (east), temperatures might reach 40 degrees Celsius, while in Nueva Concepción it might even be around 39 degrees with minimums of 23 degrees, the report said.

On Sunday, the department of Chalatenango recorded the highest temperature in the entire country, exceeding 39.7 degrees Celsius, above sectors such as San Miguel and La Unión, according to the MARN.

Other maximum temperatures were reported in Puente Cuscatlán (38.8), followed by the city of San Miguel with 38.6 degrees.
