Responding to the UN quarterly report on Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate’s deputy spokesman Hamdullah Fetrat stated that such assessments are orchestrated by specific sectors to put pressure on the Islamic Emirate.

These actions are carried out at the instigation of certain specific intelligence circles and nefarious individuals who are unsuccessfully trying to exert pressure on the Islamic Emirate.

Afghanistan views this report with suspicion and considers it an abuse of the United Nations name and title, Fetrat said.

The report by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, which addresses the humanitarian, economic, security and counter-narcotics crises in Afghanistan, was released on Wednesday.

The document warns about the serious situation in Afghanistan, overwhelmed mainly by the return of tens of thousands of migrants from neighboring countries; and by the Taliban government’s highly criticized stance on the female sector in the nation.
