Raúl Castro congratulates members of the Cuban Women’s Federation

Havana, Mar 8 (Prensa Latina) The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro, said on Friday that he felt politically satisfied and happy with the work of the Cuban Women's Federation (FMC) at difficult times, due to the growing aggressiveness by Yankee imperialism.

Raúl Castro expressed his pride in the work of Cuban women at the closing session of the 11th FMC Congress, a forum at which he sent a kiss to all women in his behalf and that of the revolutionary combatant Vilma Espín, who is considered the eternal president of the organization.

In his closing words at the event, President Miguel Díaz-Canel recalled the origins of the FMC, which was founded on August 23, 1960.

With the Federation, as our people know it, Cuban women would be integrated into a single organization that since its birth has achieved the incorporation of women into employment and into the social and economic change programs of the Revolution, the president noted.

He added that in this way, the organization has added new tasks and responsibilities at a social and community level to his historic development.
