Havana, Mar 7 (Prensa Latina) President Miguel Díaz-Canel on Thursday ratified Cuba's condemnation of the genocide committed by the Israeli Government against the Palestinian people, five months after the escalation of that conflict.

On his X profile, the Cuban head of State repeated his call to not remain silent in light of the massacre of nearly 30,000 civilians, mostly women and children, in the Gaza Strip over the past five months.

Being indifferent in the face of the massacre of the Palestinian people “is not only unacceptable, it is incompatible with human dignity,” warned Díaz-Canel, repeating an excerpt of his latest speech at the CELAC Summit in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

At the meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and various international forums, Díaz-Canel has demanded the immediate end of the indiscriminate bombings on the population and civil infrastructure on Palestinian territories.

The political and military movement of Palestine, Hamas, invaded Israeli soil on October 7, 2023, killing more than 1,500 people and taking dozens of hostages.

In response, the so-called Israel Self-Defense Forces have systematically harassed the inhabitants of northern Gaza with bombs, ground operations, and cutting off basic services, causing the forced displacement of around one million Palestinians to the south, which is also harassed.

Israel’s actions have been condemned by most countries in the international community, while in parallel, mobilizations are taking place in several cities, including in Cuba, to demand an end to the genocide against the Palestinians.
