The Foreign Ministry issued a statement emphasizing the call on all parties to make maximum efforts to accelerate the negotiation process and achieve a ceasefire in the interest of human rights.
Thailand has been following with deep concern the current situation in Gaza, such as the attacks on the city of Rafah, as well as the most recent incident in northern Israel that resulted in the loss of innocent lives, including five Thai workers injured, the Foreign Ministry said.
Such incidents only serve as a reminder of the urgency of reaching an agreement on the immediate end of hostilities and the need to achieve a lasting peace based on the two-State solution, the statement added.
At this crucial juncture, Thailand is deeply concerned about the impasse in the ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas, and calls on the parties to make every effort to move the talks forward and reach a ceasefire that would allow greater access to humanitarian assistance to alleviate the plight of the Palestinian people in Gaza, the text said.
Thailand sincerely hopes that the ceasefire can be reached before the holy month of Ramadan and will lead to the release of all hostages, including Thai nationals, the statement concluded.
