Mexican President describes invasion of the Palace as a provocation

Lopez-Obrador-3-1
Mexico City, March 6 (Prensa Latina) The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, stated today that the irruption of a group of young people into the National Palace during his usual press conference constitutes a provocation against the government.

“It is a strategy, a movement against us, they already went to the Ministry of the Interior and broke windows, it is very clear a provocative plan, we are not going to fall into a provocation,” said the president in statements quoted by newspaper La Jornada.

According to the media, the incident carried out by students from the Ayotzinapa Normal School who broke a door to enter the place is related to the case of 43 students who disappeared on September 26, 2014 in the state of Guerrero.

“I am analyzing and conducting everything because what matters to me is finding the young people and the attitude, not of the parents, but of the parents’ advisors and lawyers, an attitude, at best, very confrontational against us, a provocation,” said López Obrador.

“We don’t want confrontation at all. “I just say to the parents that we are dedicated to search for the young people,” added the president, who accused the lawyers and advisors who are manipulating the families and not allowing them to have a direct dialogue.

We no longer have confidence in lawyers and advisors, because there is an electoral and political attitude, considered the president, while saying he was willing to meet in about 15 days with the relatives of the 43 students who disappeared under the government of Enrique Peña Nieto.
