ERCS Secretary General Getachew Ta’a highlighted the enduring commitment and compassion shared by both parties to alleviate human suffering, especially in conflict-affected areas, during the signing of the documents on Tuesday, the local organization announced on its X platform.
Ta’a said that the strategic plan for this year includes allocating more than 365 million dollars to strengthen emergency services,
first-aid supplies, volunteer participation, and the distribution of humanitarian aid.
He added that these funds will also support logistical improvements, including ambulance services and the construction of warehouses to ensure that aid reaches affected populations in time.
Nicolas Von Arx, the head of the ICRC delegation, stressed the importance of the partnership’s geographical reach and collective services to help vulnerable communities.
Von Arx reiterated his commitment to preventing humanitarian crises, promoting international humanitarian law, and protecting civilians from the ravages of conflict.
