Operations officials indicated that suicide radical groups of the self-proclaimed Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas Brigade attacked the military positions along the frontline, and their offensive was repelled. In addition to the seven casualties, 15 other irregulars were wounded, and four artillery vehicles were destroyed.
The Syrian authorities explained that most of the attacking extremists were foreign-born terrorists.
In early February, a similar attack in the same area resulted in the neutralization of more than 20 terrorists.
The Syrian Armed Forces, with the support of its allies from Russia and Iran, have liberated more than 80 percent of the national territory from the terrorists, and some strongholds remain in al-Badieh and Idlib.
