pina-colada-1
Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Mar 5 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban province of Ciego de Avila will host the 21st Piña Colada Festival, which will bring together musicians from Cuba, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.

The musicality of the event will not only infect local audiences in Ciego de Avila and Morón municipality, the sub-venue of the festival, it will also reach communities, schools, work centers and other spaces of social and productive interest, the press release highlights.

Lectures, workshops, practical classes, debates and presentations by young creators from Ciego de Avila, as well as other Cuban regions and the world, will be part of the 8th Music and Youth Symposium.

Meanwhile, the Hermanos Saíz Association will share its headquarters with secondary and higher education school in the territory.

The upcoming edition contemplates the launch of the Musicávila Prize for Creation and Interpretation, in conjunction with the Musicávila Agency that honors notable exponents of local music.

As usual, the contest will celebrate the anniversaries of the Young Communist League (UJC) and the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM), and will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Empresa de Grabaciones y Ediciones Musicales (EGREM).

The Piña Colada Festival will also honor the local musicians Nelson Oney and Eliseo Simón, and Pablo Menéndez and his group Mezcla.

At the Choral Meeting of vocal groups from Havana, Camagüey and Santiago de Cuba, the next edition will pay tribute to the 25th anniversary of Corávila.

Young art instructors and members of the amateur artists movement will star in the parade of traditions, which usually opens the festival, as a tribute to the 20th anniversary of the José Martí Brigade.
