The claim discards the idea that the statement of the young Yaziré Pinedo dismantles Otárola’s alleged legal violations and states the use of government power for amorous purposes and the misuse of state funds merits his departure from office.
The young woman declared last night that the audio dates back to 2021, when the protagonist was not a member of the Government, and she maintained that it was manipulated and used in a conspiracy to cause the retirement of the Prime Minister and his replacement by an element linked to the former president, Martin Vizcarra.
What’s more, to the preparations for a presentation by Otárola before the congressional plenary session, three constitutional accusations against him were added, which coincide in imputing violations of the Magna Carta and crimes which must be approved by the Legislature for the Prime Minister to be tried.
Meanwhile, President Dina Boluarte led an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers, which obviously addressed the crisis unleashed by the revelation of audios in which Otárola offers employment to Pinedo, in the midst of romantic requests.
According to the journalistic report, the dialogue coincides with an expensive temporary and low-skilled employment contract granted to Pinedo in the Ministry of Defense, whose legality has been questioned by the Comptroller General’s Office and merited the start of an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office.
On the other hand, Vizcarra and the general secretary of his party, César Figueredo -who according to the young woman obtained a copy of the recording and provided it to a television station- denied Pinedo under the threat of putting her on trial if she did not retract her statements.
Former Defense Minister Jorge Chávez also denied the veracity of Pinedo’s statement that he helped hire her through the management of Figueredo, who also denied it.
The young woman also declared that President Boluarte’s brother, Nicanor, participated in the alleged plot against Otárola, who was accused by the press of influencing the Government, despite not having any position in the Executive.
