During his three-day official visit, Abbas will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other Turkish leaders.
The main agenda of the meeting will be Israel’s offensive against Gaza, according to information broadcast by the Türkiye Radio and Television Corporation TRT.
For Ankara, the priority is to stop Israel’s massacres as soon as possible, said Erdogan, who will discuss the recent ceasefire situation and Türkiye’s proposal to be a guarantor country for the negotiations with his Palestinian counterpart.
Tükiye says that the only way to a just and lasting peace is the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
In this regard, Erdogan will express his support for that cause and will outline actions to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza without interruption, local media reported.
