The decision was taken by the Emergency Operations Center, coordinated by the State Health Secretariat (SES).
The measure emerged after the territory, the most populated of Brazil, reached 300 confirmed cases of the disease for each group of 100 thousand inhabitants in the last few days.
The decree allows public managers to allocate resources to fight the disease more quickly and without the need for bidding.
According to the SES disease control panel, the territorial division recorded 31 lives lost due to the disease, but 122 other deaths are still under investigation.
In total, 138,259 cases were reported, with 169 considered serious.
According to the São Paulo City Hall, most of the infections are concentrated in 15 of the neighborhoods with the dengue epidemic, distributed in the North, South, East and West zones.
The São Paulo jurisdictions started the inoculation against the disease in a gradual way, starting on February 19.
Last Saturday, the Ministry of Health carried out the so-called National Mobilization Day against dengue fever to eliminate mosquito breeding sites in every family’s home.
During the day, health agents visited homes and provided guidelines to the population.
