In the event organized by the International Union of the Resistance Ulemas, Qassem rejected Washington’s aim of controlling the region and “transforming it so that it is free to subjugate those who oppose the arrogant US decision.”

The Hezbollah deputy secretary-general stressed that without the support of the White House, Israel would not have continued the war in the Gaza Strip for days.

About the issue, he stressed that the aggression against Gaza is firstly a US aggression. It aims to eliminate the Palestinian people, and it is not a reaction to the October 7 Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.

Qassem also stated that the aggression is a systematic and organized act to destroy life in Gaza and an Israeli message to the whole world that there can be no resistance against the entity.

After almost five months of crimes, the Hezbollah leader pointed to Israel’s inability to eliminate the resistance, and the US plans to calm the atmosphere and maintain the starvation blockade to achieve its goals. In this context, Qassem insisted on the duty to support Gaza and the direct interest in Lebanon and the region to prevent Israel from expanding its occupation of those lands.
