The new rate indicates that as of tomorrow, Salvadorans will pay 10 cents more per gallon of gasoline. In the central zone the superior will reach 4.32 dollars per gallon, the regular 4.08 and the diesel gallon at 4.07.

While in the west the price will be 4.33 for premium, 4.09 for regular and 4.08 for diesel.

Likewise, those living in the east will have to pay 4.37 for a gallon of premium gasoline, 4.12 for regular gasoline and 4.11 for a gallon of diesel.

These prices will be maintained for the two-week period from March 5 to 18, 2024, and according to the authorities, the increase is due, among other reasons, to the drop in fuel reserves in the United States, according to reports from the International Energy Agency.

Also, Russia suspended its exports for six months as of March 1, generating tension in international markets, but maintains diesel exports. Geopolitical tension in the Red Sea and the Suez Canal also affect costs, affecting transportation and maritime insurance.
