Sergey Lavrov denounces foreign officers’ presence in Ukraine

Moscow, Mar 1 (Prensa Latina) In addition to foreign mercenaries, officers from armed forces of other countries, including British and French, are also present in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov denounced on Friday.

‘In fact, there are career officers there, Lavrov said at a diplomatic forum in the Turkish city of Antalya, the official site of the Russian Foreign Ministry reported. In addition, the head of Russian diplomacy considers it wrong to claim that the United States is trying to distance itself from statements by French President Emmanuel Macron, who raised the issue of sending troops from Western countries to Ukraine.

On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned in his annual address to the Federal Assembly (bicameral Parliament) about the tragic consequences of such a decision.

February 24 marked two years since the start of Russia’s military operation, the aims of which, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin, are to protect the population from ‘genocide’ by the current Ukrainian authorities.
