The dignitary stated on x that CELAC is a mechanism “that should allow us to deepen the unity of our America and enhance our determined participation in the constitution of a new multipolar world.”
During the opening of the summit, this Friday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Keisal M. Peters, will inform on the management of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the head of the organization.
The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and temporary president of CELAC, Ralph Gonsalves, and the national coordinator of the bloc, Douglas Slater, will also speak during the inauguration.
The event will focus on pressing issues in the region, along with food security, health, climate change and peacekeeping in search of consensus and possible solutions.
CELAC is a regional intergovernmental mechanism formed by 33 countries which emerged in December 2011 to promote unity and political, economic, social and cultural integration.
