“Today we join the world commemoration of Zero Discrimination Day,” the president wrote onhis X account.
Maduro ratified in his message his commitment to protecting the people’s right to live fully and with dignity.
Zero Discrimination Day was established on March 1, 2014, by the United Nations General Assembly, at the request of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
UNAIDS notes that this day highlights how people “can become informed and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change.”
It proposes everyone’s right to live a “full and productive life” and to live it with dignity.
According to the Joint Program, its establishment contributes to creating a global movement of solidarity to end all forms of discrimination.
