Ortega highlighted the principles of justice and solidarity during a meeting on Wednesday with the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, who previously met in Managua with delegations from sovereign countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua.
The Sandinista leader explained that they did not come to Nicaragua to address any plan to invade the United States, or to go against NATO, or Israel. “No! We have come here to work on a plan to defend our people so that they have the opportunity to fight poverty, and achieve better development in the economic-social order,” he stated, and assured that with the development of the said meeting, which he described as historic, they feel strengthened.
During the talk with Patrushev, which was also attended by Vice President Rosario Murillo and other Nicaraguan senior authorities, the president pointed out that these dialogues addressed the development and security of the peoples.
Ortega mentioned the war in Ukraine and how that country aimed to join NATO, how the United States and other European nations defend Nazism, while Russian soldiers are fighting the battle against that evil.
Moreover, he denounced the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, and described these events as a bloody, painful and brutal reality. “The blood spilled in Palestine and the blood spilled in Ukraine is blood that flows because of the fascist, Nazi attitude of the governments that are grouped in NATO,” he emphasized.
He ALSO stressed that the people are facing what is an attempt by world capitalism, by imperialism, to reimplant Nazi-fascism, not only in Europe or Ukraine, but also in countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
According to the president, the United Nations does not have mechanisms to resolve such global problems, since words run out and votes are hoaxed.
