Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Mao Ning stressed that these measures are necessary for the organization to fulfill its responsibilities, keep international peace and security, and respond to the key global challenges in today’s world.
“The reform should benefit all member States instead of serving the selfish interests of a few,” Mao added.
The spokeswoman stressed that the solidarity and cooperation of the international community must be a priority.
“The member States should seek the broadest possible consensus for a comprehensive solution through severe and thorough consultations,” she added.
At another point of the press conference, Mao recalled that the United Nations is the most inclusive grass-roots organization globally; therefore, it can represent all countries.
