With 120 votes in favor, the legislators urged President Daniel Noboa to carry out the measure in the different regions and provinces affected by the rainy season, known here as winter.
The assembly members also requested the declaration of a state of emergency in the provinces of Los Rios, Guayas, Esmeraldas, Manabi, Santa Elena, Bolivar, Santo Domingo, Cañar, and Azuay, due to the severe effects of winter.
On the other hand, they urged the Ministries of Finance, Agriculture, Production, Transportation and Health to assign economic resources, activate contingency plans, carry out actions for the rehabilitation of road infrastructure and initiate action and control plans for dengue and malaria.
Likewise, the legislators instructed the Secretariat of Risk Management (SGR) to appear before the Plenary, in a term not exceeding 10 days, to report on the concrete actions in the framework of the climatic events, floods, landslides, and loss of human lives in the territories that have suffered the consequences of the intense rainfalls.
