Polish union threatens to reinforce protests against Government

Warsaw, Feb 28 (Prensa Latina) The Solidarity trade union called on Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk to meet with agricultural leaders to discuss their demands to maintain subsidies to the sector and prevent the imports of Ukrainian products.

Tusk must talk as soon as possible with the participants in the demonstrations of the rural sector and show full transparency.

We know that the prime minister has a busy work schedule, but the situation in the country is also tense, Solidarity pointed out.

Otherwise, the demonstrations will increase and we have already shown how we can protect the workers, Petr Duda, head of the aforementioned union, one of the most important in this country, pointed out.

In the last few days, Polish farmers have blocked national roads and created chaos in communications, to demand, in addition, the end of the access to the national territory of cereals and other products coming from Ukraine, which enjoy facilities in the European Union.

Among the demands is the cancellation of ecological requirements for the use of fertilizers and forms of tillage of the land, which, in the opinion of the protesters, makes the production in the sector more expensive.

Almost all demands from Polish rural employees coincide with those from other European colleagues such as in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic and France, where roads and avenues in the capitals of those states were blocked, according to international media.
