According to a decree from the president of the transitional government, Mamady Doumbouya, the founder and vice president of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea, Oury Bah, is to integrate a new Cabinet, a week after the previous one was dissolved.

The political crisis in Guinea has deepened since September 2021, when then President Alpha Condé (2010-2021) was overthrown by military officers, and was accused by his opponents of modifying the Constitution to run for a third presidential term, amid a climate of corruption, poverty and financial mismanagement.
